Lewis is due to give birth to a baby girl on November 3 and she said that she doesn’t have pland for a full tour comeback until March of next year.

“It is the last one,” Lewis said. “Just taking it day by day, resting as much as I can. Getting pretty tired and the heat obviously doesn’t help things. So just kind of minimizing the practice and maximizing what I can get done.

“This was my first LPGA tournament I played in. It was one I came to when I was a little kid getting autographs. So a lot of fun memories here.”

The 33-year-old American has 12 LPGA titles in which two are major events, including the 2011 raft Nabisco Championship and 2013 Women’s  British Open.

Notable Golf Rules Penalties http://golfingaddiction.com/index-php-files/2018/07/10/notable-golf-rules-penalties/ Tue, 10 Jul 2018 08:51:59 +0000 http://golfingaddiction.com/?p=2406

The golf rulebook may seem a little bit more complicated than other sports. It was reported earlier this year that a new Rules of Golf would take effect at the beginning of 2019.

In the modern golf, golfers participating on tournaments are now closely being monitored thanks to the latest HD cameras. These gadgets can spot what the naked eye can’t see. Defying the rules today will surely alert the officials keenly surveying the links.

Like in all the other sports, rules were made to protect the integrity of the game. But sometimes, those rules are broken weather intentionally or accidentally.

Here are the times rules of golf were broken:

“It took me eight years to win the first time and at the time I told everyone it would not take me eight years to win another one. And it took seven,” he said with a laugh.

“It feels amazing,” Na said. “I see the records on TV, most starts since winning. I’m always up there. I failed so many times.

The 34-year-old’s last title was the 2011 Shriners Open in Las Vegas.

“I never got ahead of myself… Things were just happening and for some reason I felt like it was my day,” he said.

USGA disallows DeChambeau’s use of compass http://golfingaddiction.com/index-php-files/2018/07/06/usga-disallows-dechambeaus-use-of-compass/ Fri, 06 Jul 2018 10:26:02 +0000 http://golfingaddiction.com/?p=2393

Bryson DeChambeau was caught by the cameras using a drawing compass during the third round at the Travelers Championship. He was later on approached by the tournament officials and the incident was soon investigated to determine if DeChambeau was breaking the golf rules by using the device.

“They said we just want to let you know we’re investigating this device and seeing if it’s allowable or not,” DeChambeau said.

The USGA has come to a verdict this week deciding that the instrument DeChambeau used is against the rules.

“The USGA has ruled that the use of a protractor (also known as a drawing compass) during a stipulated round is a violation of Rule 14-3a of the Rules of Golf,” read a statement from the PGA Tour to players. “It is considered ‘unusual equipment that might assist him in making a stroke or in his play.’”

USGA official John Bodenhamer had a meeting with Dechambeau on July 3 to explain the associaton’s decision regarding the use of protractor. Bodenhamer then stated that the use of such device had the potential to “compromise a player’s skill and judgement.”

“With some of these sorts of devices, it can be difficult lines to draw on what’s permissible and what is not permissible,” Bodenhamer said. “But here, we drew the line there with Rule 14-3 [that the compass did not conform].
